Dell Breaks Ground on Global Operation Center in Chengdu, China

Dell broke ground on a new global operation center in Chengdu, China, according to a March 24, 2011 press release by the Chengdu High-tech Industrial Development Zone. Dell and the Chengdu local government signed an agreement on September 14, 2010 to set up a flagship facility at the Chengdu High-tech Industrial Development Zone, but latter, Dell decided to build a global operation center instead. As per the agreement, the new operation center will focus on manufacturing, sales, and customer services. The new operation center is slated for operation this year and is projected to provide products and services for consumers, government agencies, large enterprises, and small- and medium-sized enterprises.
